The blue thing on the end is not a filter. What you are seeing is a heat shield. The filter is a regular cone inside that protective cover.

I had one. The HKS BOV type. But it was cheaply made. The filter area is so much smaller than a regular K&N cones or any others without the shield that you are in no way sucking more air than stock. And there is no BOV sound dude, that is just a plastic cover. It's built mostly for civics that needs restricted air for low rpm torque.

(what I have) is better than (what I tried) if you are looking for more air.

That Aerospeed unit is just a air filter cover that is designed to LOOK like a Blow Off Valve. No, it makes no special sounds.

Anytime you are covering up part of the air filter you are restricting air flow. Reactive is the most common, but others like aerospeed are now trying it.

Any miniscule gains from blocking heat are negated by the horrible decrease in air flow you get by blocking off 75% of the air filter.

Just use a normal "cone" or 'round' filter.
