I just got the OzSpec 62mm BBTB from SwiftTiburon (thanks!!), and found that it didn't have the cruise module on it... I really need cruise, so how do I go about installing it? It appears as though I need to replace the main shaft that goes through the length of it, but it seems there's another piece or bolt like thing that the cruise part hooks on to. I have a spare TB, so I can play around a bit as needed, but how do I do this?

you may be able to switch out the shafts using the stock tb's longer shaft with two pullies swapped onto the OZ spec BBTB, i never did it on hers because her airram and (at the time) dual rail made it almost hit the firewall as it was.

Let us know if you see improvement btw, it never really got a chance to shine on her car...

I'll definitely let you know, assuming I get it installed.

The only problem with using the stock one, is that the portion on the shaft that the butterfly valve (round disc in the TB) mounts in is right at 58mm, so somehow I'd have to extend that. May not be more than a simple file job, but who knows.
And I still worry about forcing the shaft in and out of the bearings, it takes a lot of force, and I don't want to bend or break anything.

I did a DIY with pics before for this.

It's really easy if you have the spare pulley.

Ok, I've been searching all afternoon, found a lot of pretty good stuff, but this thread is the best I could find: http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtop...hl=cruise++bbtb Pics are at the bottom. Is that the one you're referring to, or do you have another DIY somewhere?
Looks like I just need the acceleration pulley from SFR, is that pretty much it? (SFR acceleration pulley link) I don't have much room on this shaft, so hopefully it would fit... Sorta OT, but is it safe to order from SFR, or do you have another spot I could get it from?
I'm slightly concerned about the throttle and cruise cables being independent, is that a problem at all that you've experienced, or no? It seems like with a bunch of slack, the cable could slip out of the new rotor.
I saw you mentioned zip tying both cables together, and seeing as I want to install my BBTB Monday and I don't have the additional rotor, I may try that. Is it safe for a couple weeks?
Last thing, is there any way I can get my current cruise rotor to work? (I do have a spare, so I can play around as necessary) It's really thick, obviously, but I wasn't sure if there was a method of making the stock one work.
Thanks!!

Ok, I've been looking at and thinking about this thing nonstop since I started researching yesterday... Anyhow, I've been trying to find a way to make the stock cruise pulley work, and I think it might. The main problem is that the TB shaft isn't long enough, and the threads don't stick out far enough to fit any more material in (ok, a little bit if you fudge it...). Also, on the stock cruise pulley, there's a large shaft around which the spring used to go, making it way too tall to fit on the tiny little bit of shaft I have available to use. However, if I cut that large shaft off or most all the way off (and the two bushings inside of it, that might be quite the pain...), it would be very close to fitting. The if there still isn't enough room, I think I can dremel down the main TB shaft and essentially lower the rest of the throttle assembly, thereby giving me more room on the end of the shaft.
I'm planning on doing this first thing in the morning, so if anyone else has a better idea, holler soon!

I'm quoting the above post to help out Strike Eagle here.

Looks as if that's the pics from it, we may have lost that DIY though. You shoudl get the gist from those though.

I'd suggest you try to get it through Mad John first. If not, then risk it with SFR, chances are you'll get your stuff eventually, but little support.

It could, and on mine, the cruise one does. I've got a fix I'm working on for it, so no worries. It'll be easy.

Probably, I never did it, but others have. I'd just go wthout cruise for a week or 2.

As for your ideas for using the stock, the question is, is it worth your safety, or worth getting stuck somewhere with an inoperative car?

No.

Trust me, do it the way I did, it works fine, and you'll have no issues.
