An idea
At my work we make enclosures for our drives. Which these are made in many different materials...but the one material im eye balling is the SS powder coated blue "sheets" which what im thinking is to make a little enclosure for my air filter. And to have a hose leading into it....which the "box" would be over sized to the size of the filter..so it would "store up" cold air. The powder coating should help this task good. Any thoughts? And YES the hose will lead to another enclosure which for now would be mounted in the lower grill area...a nice sheet metal rectangular with a outlet for the hose. The distance the hose will travel will be alittle long...but thats the reason for the over size "box" Also im thinking of doing some type of diffrent sections within the "box" for air pressure to build up a little bit. *WOW* I just had another idea.....Hrmmm...I think i'll keep this one to myself until I can test my theory out....

A pressurized airbox is a good idea, if you have the underhood room to devote to it. The only problem is the heat build up in th metal of the box. Unless you give it a generous coating of ceramic coat inside and out, it will get hot. Powercoat itself doesn't do much to stop heat transfer. It is better than bare metal, but not as good as ceramic coating and/or heat wraping.
