I thought I would make a post of Fuel injector sizing.

I thought I would start up a post about fuel injector sizing.

This is so we know what we got, and then what we need.

Now..

We can all agree the 2.0L BETA2 is 190CC

The Beta 1.8L and 2.0L is still under speculation. And this is pretty much the important one next to the Beta 2.

I dont think anyones tested the 1.8

Now the 2.0 I have heard several different numbers. 230cc, 245cc, 255cc even 260cc and 270cc

Now, before anyone comes in here claiming numbers. Lets face its all rumor. I say we need proof. If you tested your injector at an established facility that does that like rceng.com and have a sheet claiming numbers, please SCAN and POST.

No proof, dont post, we dont wanna confuse ppl.

Anyone have some spare injectors laying around they want to donate? I am getting a beta 2.0 injector this week. Could use a 1.8L or a any sonata injectors. or even accent injectors so we can compile a good list.

I have heard the Sonata injectors are 270cc. Again no proof.

If you have a data sheet, or Part numbers with a part number decoder, or a website showing the rated size. This would all be a good start.

Remember, if you are testing the injector for us. Its needs to be at 43 PSI

Thank you all.

Well, this is all fine and dandy, but isn't it listed at HMA?

How about fitment? I could care less what Sonata injectors or GK injectors flow, if they dont' fit.

I thought they were HMA too but was unable to find them. I think this thread or one like it should cover the injector size of injectors that fit the beta1. No real sense in having information for other cars here.

I've got Jaws021's RC-Engineering Sheet. 245cc
Somewhere, I've got a copy of RED's, his were 250cc (Revision A injectors different?)

I'll scan it in and post it up or email it to you guys.

Regarding spare injectors... I think i've got 4 Beta1 2.0L 4 Beta1 1.8L and 4 Beta2 2.0L injectors floating around my garage somewhere....

Thanks random. Please do post it ^^

Ultratib, I know the Beta2 guys can use sonata injectors, which makes it a reason to belong here.

I am wondering if older sonata injectors would work. Probably not thou.

I hear Mustang injectors work. from the 3.8

Not to flame or anything, but what use is it to know what type of injectors the stock ones are?

T/C and S/C kits come with injectors most of the times. If not, use aftermarket.

It is valueable to know what the stock units are so you know how much you can get out of them before you have to worry about replacing them.

As with the Case with the Beta2 Injectors... Knowing that STOCK Sonata injectors are cheap, available, and offer an increase in fueling is VERY valueable.

Random is correct,

I also want to include. If you want to say get 270cc. And run them at maybe 30psi fuel pressure at idle.

You could possible get away with larger injectors on the stock ECU.

Also. Knowing the size of the stock injectors helps you calculate how much fuel you may need to take away for cruising conditions with a SAFC or SMT6 or any other type.

Sure you should do that on a dyno, but showing up at the dyno with a baseline in mind, helps rather then shooting in the dark the first couple tries.

Its better to know then not know.

Shaddoh, don't quote the post above yours. You may have missed it, but it's a rule now. Unless you are answering specific questions and splitting up the quote.

Heh, what Turbo or SC kits for the Beta Series of engines comes with Injectors? Why use aftermarket if the OEM ones will fit and are cheap and readily available?

I agree, but like I asked earlier my mang, do they fit without modification?
