I'm in the process of building a custom aluminum baffled catch can with moroso filter on top and a drain back to the pan.

sounds like the catch can isnt working right. isnt its purpose to catch all the oil passing through it?

yea, but theres 2 ports on the valve cover and only 1 is ran to the catch can the pcv port, the other is open adn thats where the oil is come out, i think i'm just gonna run both to the can...but then how am i gonna run the lines from the can to the intake? i dotn wanna put it before the turbo so any oil residue doesnt gunk up the turbo over time...and suggestions where to hook it up to? maybe if i put in a one way valve that will suck air under vaccumm and close under boost...thats a thought...i'll try that and let u all know how it works

I'm boosted.

my previous setup was:

1. Replace the PCV with the brass fitting.

2. T the fitting with the breather port.

3. Run the T ed line to the catch can

4. Run the output line of the catch can to the atmosphere.

But

The problem was that it caused the turbo seal blew due to the pressure. I guess T ing is somewhat helping to build up the pressure inside.

Here's my new setup:

1. Replace the PCV with the brass fitting.

2. Run both PCV and breather port completely seperate.

3. Run each line to the atmosphere.

One thing that has been missing and that makes a BIG difference in your catch can setup, the can MUST be higer than the source (pcv valve).

The hose need to point up, not down. This way, only the oil fume will end-up in the can, the oil will not go up the hose at high revs/loads. If the hose points down, everything will flow in the can and create a mess.

No, the purpose of the catch can is to stop the oil vapors from getting into the TB and IM and ultimatly, in the air/fuel mixture. You want to reroute those vapors away from the intake to the catch can. Now, you want to let the pressure out of the head while keeping the oil in the engine. Have your hose point up and the can at the level of the head or higher will do just that.
