Default How to hone cylinder?

Ive been searching around read that engine honing kits come with some lube or something, but the one at Harbor Frieght doesn't come with anything like that. Do i need it? and if so what do i use?

First you need to check the condition of your cylinders to see if a simple hone is all you'll need to restore a good cross-hatch pattern. After that you can get a ball hone for your cylinder size for cheap and then use a variable speed drill to do the honing. And yes you'll need to apply periodic lubrication while honing otherwise you'll destroy the hone and the cylinder.

Are you sure you need to hone the cylinders? Unless the bores are scored, out of round, or have an excessive lip at the top, you could likely use moly rings and go without honing. If you are going to use chrome faced rings, you must hone, regardless of bore condition, or they will never seat properly.
