How do people spin rod bearings?

Default How do people spin rod bearings?

I hear about this happening alot on other cars. How or why do bearings get spun? I dont understand the concept of it.

One outcome can have a crap load of factors that caused it. And when the rod bearing goes, you need to look at a few other things to suss out what exactly the problem was. Things such as which half of the bearing went first, or are both halves knackered? Did any other bearings go? What did the top of the piston look like? Things like that tell you what exactly caused the bearing to die.

it could be also because or cheap/lack of oil.... or a wayyy over due oil change.... as stated above... neglect

also if your engine is making more heat than usual then the bearing siezes to your crank and tears your sh*t up

I think the key issue here is that there are so many ways to do a rod bearing that it isn't actually possible to know how it's going to get done until you do it. Way too many factors involved. That problem gets compounded when you change the OEM specification(ie. modifying)
