Default Heat Wrap?

I need to find some heat wrap for my CAI system. I heard thermatec was the best and that I could get it at JCWhitney, but I can't find it at their site. Can anyone give me directions? or possibly recommend a better heatwrap/site to buy it off?

thankx

JCwhitney sells it as does www.summitracing.com

go to the exhaust section for JCW. They have it there.

JCW sells the Thermotec brand, I think Summit sells Thermotec and DET or JET brand (some 3 letter company, I can't remember the name).

I would only reccomend it if you have aftermarket headers, and then, only wrap to the cat. If you have a CAI, wrapping that makes a big difference as well.

You guys rule! Thankx.
after 10min or so, my power seems to drop off. So i NEEEEED me some heat wrap. Also, would it be advisable to wrap my exhaust headers as well? just to be sure? They're stock. Should I take that metal plate off, or is that like a heat-sink?

Do not take the heat plate away but do wrap them, the loss of heat out of the header is power! Do the intake, the headers. If you have turbos they sell special wrap for them. Wrap both sides, turbine and compressor.

I got 50' of the 2" tape, hopefully that should be enough for my CAI. And possibly some of my headers?

Random, did you say that wrapping my headers right now(stock) would be not worth it?

mmmm it would be better on headers! If you are planning to buy them soon, stock it until you get them. If not it will still help but wonder how much, may not be worth the effort.

It's not worth the effort to do the stock headers. The design is so horrible you will not see any gains, and the increase in heat buildup will damage the stock exhaust manifold.

You do not need those little clips they sell, You can hold the heat wrap on the CAI with zip ties or the pipe clamps that hold the CAI on.
