I have a 2000 Tiburon and I installled headers and a free flow cat. The Header came with one O2 sensor and I drill another hole for the second O2 sensor. Everything worked fine for about two months then the check engine light came on. Then one day I felt I was losing power. Now I am thinking that the Cat is nothing working well with this setup. Ramdon Technogies has free flow Cat and I was thinking of getting one. Perhaps this would solve this problem. Question, should I install a Cat or just leave it off?

Serious though,... you need that cat, if not you get a CEL.
Get a carsound cat, they are the cheapest and best on the market.

I would replace the oxygen sensor first before buying another cat.

 

I would get the codes off the ECU before buying anything. I would also NOT replace the o2 sensors.

O2 sensors are about $100 each. Carsound cats are only $50 to $60 each....which would you rather do? Spend $200 on new O2 sensors or $50-60 on a new cat?
