Gen1 Tib - need help in identifying sensor
Hi guys,
OK so I finally got my hands on a knock sensor and would want to replace it. Question though, how hard is it really to replace this thing? I personally couldn't pull it out by myself coz of hand and engine clearance issues.
Do I need to put the car on a lifter? Or do I really have to get my engine out to replace it? Thanks in advance!

should be a quick job and could be done from uptop or under. its just a single 10 or 12mm bolt right on the back of the engine. if you still have the manifold support beams it might be a little bit of a bish though.
he man,
thanks for the reply but i really can't fit my hand via the top of the car.
anyway, i'll be taking the block out all because of this stupid accident i encountered over the weekend.
I'll have the knock sensor replaced and have all the other problematic bits fixed while the block's out.
on an unrelated note to the knock sensor, can i drive the car around without the camshaft position sensor connected to the harness?
i won't be driving at highspeeds and will only drive for around 30 minutes tops.
