It has a larger exhaust system too though and possibly other changes that I'm not aware of (pistons, rods, etc...) the material composition of the cam could be lighter to reduce rotating mass but be the same design. Too bad we don't have any pics of the cam to compare it to the 1.8L
Iwas reading about it on this website http://members.tripod.co.uk/Xorro/ukhcs/index.htm and they say it has the cams from the 1.8 litre beta engine.

You would not be able to tell cams apart from pictures. the 1.8L cams only have 0.4 mm lift and 8 degrees more duration on the intake cam only. You wouldn't really be able to descern the difference that with the naked eye. The exhaust cam on the 1.8 is the same as the 2.0.
The F2 Evo lists different part #'s for both cams, thus both cams must be different.

So when someone does a 1.8 cam swap they only use the intake cam? I learn something new everyday. As far as the evo cams I read that they were the 1.8 cams, I don't know which is why I posted the link. smile.gif

The link posted is my website and the details on the F2 Evo are from an offical Hyundai source...This has led me to believe that the 1.8 and Evo cams are the same, however the Evo cams have .03mm more lift, whereas the 1.8 (according to Random) has .4mm - so its all rather confusing.
But, anyhow, I'm still getting new cams smile.gif tongue.gif
