Default Exhaust question?

I have decided to purchase the 4-1 header from SR for my 2K Tib. I know I am going to have to "rebuild" my exhaust system because of this though. Should I try and re-use my factory catalytic convertor or should I buy a new aftermarket cat. Also would I need new sensors or would my factory ones be able to be re-used? I want to make sure I know what I'm getting into before I start this.
P.S. What is the difference between the two headers for the 2K tiburon on SR. One's a 4-1 the other a 4-2-1 Racing Header? eek.gif

There is a 4-2-1, a 4-1 and a 4-1 Racing.

The headers will move the HP more to the top end as you go up the scale above, at the sacrafice of bottom end power.

You cannot reuse the "vertical" cat, but if you have 2 cats, you can keep the unit that is underneath. You can retain your stock o2 sensors, but dump the stock resonator in favor of a glasspack.

Any flavor of SR headers would be a great match with the KORE or Speedstate Cat back system, and should save some of the "Custom" fabrication required.

Actually, unless it was just a misprint, it says that its a 4-2-1 Racing Header. It is under the 4-1 Header section though for some reason. I posted a message in the Product Inquiries forum about it the other day, but still no response from Sam or Yam yet.

I don't have 2 cats and since I cannot re-use the vertical cat. How/where should I get one. Also should I get one the same size as my factory or should I go with a larger sized opening (2.5") Since my exhaust is the 2.5" cat back system from HVE. Just curious. rolleyes.gif
Yeah that 4-2-1 Racing header made me think too. What's so different about it from the other two?

I would go with the 2.5" opening cat.
