Default Exaust

Can someone please explain to me what the difference is between normal, and cat-back exaust systems. I also I am wondering if it is possible to make your own custom exaust if there is one that is not made for the type of vehicle that I have. I have a 2002 Daewoo Lanos, I cannot find an exaust anywhere for my car. Please help me out bro's.

Whether normal or not, they are all "cat back." Cat back means that the exhaust is from catalytic converter to a muffler.

It is possible to make custom cat back for your car. Just go to a local muffler shop and ask them the price. It should cost around $80-120. The only major difference between your local shop custom exhaust and cat back exhaust from the company such as MHP, KORE, and Brullen is that custom exhaust is press bend, and aftermarket exhaust system is mandrel bend. Press bend will make exhaust diameter to change significantly when it needs to be bent (curvy section). On the other hand, mandrel bend are heat curved, so the diameter throughout the pipe are all same.

There is a trick where the muffler shop can replace only those press bent curve section with already pre-made mandrel bend pipe (such as 45 degree or U-band pipe). If done correctly, this could be as good as aftermarket mandrel bent exhaust system. You should expect to pay around $50 more for this "fake" mandrel bent pipe because they are a lot harder to make.

2.5" is WAY TO BIG for your little 1.6L motor.

Go with a 2" and you should be fine. 2.25" tops, but 2.5" is WAY TO BIG.

I can give you math formulas and all kind of other stuff, or I can just rest on my laurels and just state "personal experience". your choice.

Or you can read this.
