I've got the ssautochrome 4-2-1's and they sound nice, except the buzzing but I think I'll be getting that fixed soon (see my headers thread). If your interested in waiting I'm hoping to get my turbo project done in... about 50 years. hehe.. seriously sometime this winter so if you wanna wait I'm gonna sell mine then. untill then there is always ebay. laugh.gif

Personally i wouldn't do it again.....it has made my life a living hell.....i have emissions problems and have gone through 3 catyalytic converters and 2 o2 sensors......so i would take the money and buy something else...it really doesn't do that much for the car.

On the other hand...it looks damn good when you open up the engine bay and have that instead of the headshield...It has helped me with carshows so.....

Make up your own mind...but i for one wouldn't do it again just cause its caused me more trouble than its worth.

i personaly disagree here. you've got a sick ride though JD, so i know you've gone through a lot of bullshish to get there.

i think the shifting is MUCH better and i'd highly recommend the upgrade for the auto-trans. i don't know about say... a 4-1 manual though. *shrug*

i think they sound much better too. not too loud, and still whispers at idle with a CAI. my set up is just headers and intake right now, stock cat (minus the federal cat of course... from the stock manifold). that's why i've been so leary on getting my exhaust done because i LOVE the sound right now. everyone comments on how good it sounds (especially at high RPM), and refreshingly unlike that fart everyone else has oozing from their honda's rectal area.

I think the raspy sound comes from cheap welds that corrode and dissappear over time. I have that raspy problem now with my ractive fart tube. I am about to purchase a catback system, with headers, highflow cat, the whole 9. I'll let you know how much that changes my raspy ugly nasty sound.

I have the SS autochrome header... just not yet installed as I still have to buy other parts yet (free flow cat, custom cat back exhaust to work with my still being formed bodykit). I have the 4 to 1 and I have to say.. looking at it, it is not the best header in the world.. but nor is it the worst I have had on a car. I have had some REALLY bad headers on some of my cars.. including one that still had weld slag stuck to the inside passages at the collector.
You WILL get more noise with this over the stock manifold.. The stock exhaust manifold is a cast piece that is heavy and very THICK walled to cut down on noise... However, the Beta engine is a long stroke, I doubt it will get as buzzy as a honda. Honda engines.. especially the 1.6 and 1.8 are big bore/short stroke engines... very similar to a crotch rocket... and you know how buzzy those can sound. Also, a LOT of the buzz you hear in modded cars comes from that Fart can you were talking about. It functions very similar to a megaphone.. amplifying the already louder sound into something that can make your ears bleed. I recommend a nice resonated tip.. that will help keep the buzz down.

AEMTIB01... Why don't you just install the header you've got (according to your sig) & see for yourself what it sounds like?

If it sounds shit... take it off & sell it wink.gif

don't worry, you'll like the headers, I didn't notice it there in your sig... slap em on there (be prepared for about 4-5 hours of breaker bar fun if you don't have a impact wrench). there's a diy around some where, which you might wanna look over first. I put mine on before I found this site so i didn't have any instuctions and it took me a while to get it worked around. laugh.gif

i thought bikes had a very small bore. i was reading somewhere and it was saying thats how they were able to make crazy compression ratios. the smaller pistons can take it.

Default Wheels...ebay...help!

bike engines are small all around... unless you are talking about the v twin in a harley.. that is a LONG stroke engine.. and you can hear it in the exhaust tone
