I have the solution to ALL your problems. Just cuz I'ma homie like that... cool.gif

You CAN remove the evap cannister (it's really a box so I'm going to start calling it "box") COMPLETELY without getting a CEL or weird driveability.
What you do first is remove all hoses from evap BOX. Then remove EVAP box from mount (two screws under box). The box will come off (with purge valve still connected by one hose) and then you can remove the metal mounting bracket if you feel like it.

Then, you MUST remove the purge valve from the EVAP BOX. TAKE the EVAP BOX and throw it off of the nearest cliff. Watch it's gheyness shatter into pices. LOL, just for shits n' giggles.

NOW:
You will need to connect the FATTY tube from the purge valve to it's original connection. (the tube coming from the direction of the tranny).

OKay, now you have three hoses left over just hanging there

1.) the other end of the purge valve (small hose)

2.) AND 3.) the two hoses hanging down from under the battery tray.

YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL AND SPLASH GUARDS TO SEE WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT

Okay, now all you have to do is connect those three hoses using a T-fitting (found in the plumbing department of Home Depot) and make sure they are securely fastened.

There is already a diy for this, coutesy of Sparticus:
It includes the products (total of FOUR) you will need from Home Depot.

scroll down to the "What is a rev A tib?" question for the DIY
range">
FOR FREE:

I have taken the liberty of acquiring TWO sets of these T-fittings you will need to successfully remove the EVAP canister. They are YOURS if you just pay me shipping (contact via PM only please). They are already screwed together and ready to go.

NOW, I KNOW this "Mod" works because TODAY, I just removed my EVAP canister completely (left the purge valve connected) and I haven't even connected the three hoses together yet. I just drove my car to Home Depot and no CEL r funny driving.
^^THAT'S with the hoses just HANGING THERE. But it's better safe than sorry...

ONE MORE NOTE:
REMEBER to plug in the power to the purge valve. It is just a little plug (just like the one that plugs into your foglights) and it goes into the back of the valve. If that is not in you will get a CEL.

-Peace.

no, tomorrow I will photchop your picture to fix it for you.

sorry if my explanation sucks hardcore, but check this thread tomorrow morning.

Btw, my canister (box) is off right now and the purge valve is still connected but it's just hanging there (plugged in). The other tubes are just hanging there too, and I have no CEL or problems...

hmmm?

This is really for HKC, here ay go (cuz he may be the only one who knows what i am talking about). It's pretty easy to figure out once you've SEEN what we're talking about.

Anyway, here's is what I was describing:

I dunno why I just wasted my time in paint, here ya go:

Thanks P!! I'm doing this right now. Be careful, because your CEL will go on after a certain amount of miles if there's anything wrong. Keep your eyes out.

Thanks a lot again man. In the pictures I couldn't see the valve and which hoses are which so your diagram really helps.
