I will tell you the truth.. this problem has me stumped. Definatly start with a new rad cap.. they are cheap enough.

So what happened to your car? Did you solve the problem already? Have you taken it to check?
It is a very weird problem, we could all learn a lot from this situation you are experiencing...

it has not overheated since then, but I'm also driving the car as little as possible right now. We've had a lot of cooler weather with rain (results from the hurricane) so it hasn't been nearly as hot as it had been. The problem seems to have worked itself out, but the overheating wasn't a daily thing, so I can't be sure if it's fixed or not for a little while. I hope it doesn't come back.

I have to report that it's been handling fine for the last few weeks. This REALLY upsets me that it was just the radiator cap. Had I known, I could have prevented a LOT of harshness on my engine sad.gif

I'll probably start changing my t-stat and radiator cap once per year, if not more. $9 could save a lot of heartache
