Default Engine Noise

I have a hyundai accent, and i just recently realized a slight tick in my engine. It's a 98 with 51,000 miles.. Does anyone know of any problems/defects the engines have? it sounds like a valve, but I'm not sure. If anyone knows anything, please let me know! (Also, does the factory 60,000 mi. warrenty cover it?)

My friend has that problem and i have a slight tick on mine also, we both have tibs. I honestly think it's nothing major. Maybe it's a relay or something, but I have 24,000 miles so I don't think that it's a valve and if so it's not all that hard to check the adjustment.

HLA, or Hydraulic lash adjuster. When these little guys get plugged or coked with oil crusties, they start to tick because they cannot fully inflate.

Sometimes, just a good oil change will fix it. Sometimes you need to run some of that engine flush through to dissolve all the BS that collects in there.

And sometimes, you gotta replace them.
