Has anyone done this on a Tib, and is it worth doing? What were your results?
Random, Red,... any benefits?

Thanks smile.gif

i've been curious about these, too. i do like the technique of just copying another kit that's already out. much less expensive.

I did it.

I went to pepboys. Bought some negative terminal battery cables, and ran them from the negative terminal to around the engine bay.

I ran these cables, to the intake manifold. Coilpack bracket and firewal.

As these are locatons were the store wiring harness grounds.

So I made sure it had the best ground.

Edit.

As for what it does. Reving FEELS better, Idle FEELS better. Engine willing climbs to 6750rpm.

The idle does not dip when I turn on my headlights.

But, mine only cost me $9 bucks.

In theory, if your electrical system is 100% up to snuff. No, they won't do a damn thing for you.

If your electrical system is having grounding problems, or electrical interfearence (noise), then yeah, they MIGHT help, they might not.

I'd run the following.
Negative battery to Coil Pack/head.
Intake manifold/TB joint area to firewall.
tranny to frame

I'd also reccomend you MAKE your own, rather than buy your own. (like they guy in the article linked to did) You can find good high quality speaker wire in a rainbow of colors to match your engine color scheme, use good gold connectors, and good heat shrink wrap on the connectors.

Well. Most OEM wirirng harness. I am sure suck.
And Hyundais not known for any quality work.

And thats the whole ideas of theses.

You ever see the ground spot behind radio in the 03 tib? They have about 20 wires all going to one bolt.

Assuming that bolt to the frame is properly grounded. If not, you have 20 devices, not getting a good ground.

Technically they work. They dont hurt. except your wallet.

all and all. Its up to you.

But they helped me. So I am sure if my 2000 wirirng sucked. I am sure we have other poor wiring in other tibs.

And just to throw this out, you know how there are some tibs that just eat bulbs? Could this be a problem with the electrical system "not being up to snuff"? And could this possibily be a cure for this???

Mine doesn't eat bulbs like some I've heard, but just an idea.

anyone know how mutch wire you'd need? seems like a good cheap project smile.gif Wouldn't you get better grounding from a copper wire?

pictures?

How much wire?

Doods. It to easy for even that !!

Just go to your car, find your coil pack. measure from coil pack to battery negative terminal.

Do the same to the firewall.
and to the intake manifold.

now drive over to pepboys or your similar ricer establishment and buy some NEGATIVE battery cable wires.

Actually get the BLACK, dont use red to match your interior.

I am not sure if its true. But I have seen alotof articles specify. That they use a different material in the ground wire, then in the the red power wire.
