doing cam research

where can you get the 272 cams?
You can try HP like mb said, and theres also Real-Engineering. I don't think Kspec sells 272's on the site, but they can get anything. I'd think your best bet would be Rick @ Real though.
I don't mean to kidnap the thread, but before it turns into where to buy cams... what effect would have to raise the compression (with high comp pistons, let's say to 11,5:1) together with the cams? Because I assume if your still NA you want more duration and lift right?
If going N/A with high comp pistons, then yes, you want more duration.
The more the duration the better the car performs in the higher RPM band. It is possible to go with too much duration and the max hp curve will be out of the rpm limit for our cars. (The reverse is true, you can have better lower end performance with shorter duration).
N/A likes overlap.
Both N/A and Turbo, you want high lift.

I would get the cams from Real-Engineering even though HP is cheaper. Real developed their own cams, and their customer service is great. Since they did the R&D, they know the problems that might occur on the car. They know what they're doing. Hyundai Performance from the contact I've made with them are not really knowledgable.
The thing with the cams from Real is that they are sintered and hollowed.
meaning stronger and lighter.
and Real didn't do the R&D on them, Tigerlilly did.

Hrm, could've swore they made their own cams. Ahh well. I figured they were sintered and hollowed, but wasn't sure because I would be wrong. Looks like I was wrong anyway. lol.gif
