Direct Fire Ignition*UPDATE*

OK, DO NOT TRY THIS MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAYBE JUST DELETE THIS POST SO NOBODY DOES!!!!!!!!!
I thought I would try to see how these coil's would run off of the stock ignition without the MSD hooked up and the outcome is not good, I ended up burning out another ecu(this is number three), it turns out theses little coil's draw more amperage than our stock ecu can handle, it ran good for about ten minutes untill the ecu overheated(I guess)and the ignition outputs fried. It worked good with the MSD because it supplies more power to the coil's and it ran great so do not try it unless you are running a MSD ignition or a standalone that can handle the power needed to run the coils. I guess someone had to try it to see if it would work, oh well back to the drawing board
Direct Fire Coil side by side with a regular spark plug wire....
All wired up and ready to go...........
installed and running.............
The car now runs so much smoother and seems to have better throttle response, the best part of all I no longer need to mess with those factory coil packs or sparkplug wires, life is good.

Re: Pot calling the Kettle Black
Hmm...
Please explain more man.
Prices, how hard to do, how to do, ect.
Also, would it help to have higher gauge wire?

Re: Direct Fire Ignition
Well they costed me nothing, I went to a junk yard that one of my freinds works at looking for a stock ecu and a coil pack and he did not have any but he pulled these off the shelf and told me to try them since they did not fit a project he was working on so I popped my hood and they fit perfectly. I have no idea what they come from but he gave me six of them so I have two spares and I guess they are stock coils from a v6 but wich one I do not know and there are no part numbers or markings on them at all, they wired up just like any other coil would.
They are running off the stock ecu with the MSD for now but it will give me the option to run sequential ignition when I put my standalone in.

Re: Exhaust Leak! Help me please!
Well, here is my first post in a LONG time, but here is a little info on COP's (Coil on Plugs).
http://hostingprod.com/@aa1car.com/library/copign.htm
This link has some makes/models that use COP technology, but there are many aftermarket kits out there as well. I have seen a COP conversion done on a sr20det, but I can not seem to find the info at the moment.
It isn't really difficult, you just need to extend and split the wires that go to each original coil to go to the new COP's. There should only be two wires for each original coil, if I am not mistaken. It has been a long while since I have been under the hood of my car. I believe the coils feed cylinders 1-4 and 2-3, but I may be mistaken. Nonetheless, you just extend the wires that went to the orininal coil to the new COP's. DOHC 4's are generally blessed in this modification due to the large amount of space for our spark plug wires.
Do a little surfing and you should find tons of information.
