Default Diagnosing a smell

This is tied to my last thread about the new exhaust:

After the install, I went for a drive and noticed a burnt chemical smell coming from the car. I used a lot of WD-40 to loosen rusted bolts, if it burned off, could this be it? Could it be the paint/coating on the pipes "caking"? I know when I pained my HOT plate, I faintly smelled paint for almost a month after running the car. Also I've read that they coat pipes with a little oil for storage/shipping, could this be burning off?

I know, I'm just paranoid. Every time my baby makes a new sound or smell I freak out.

Thanks,
a

Nevermind, I contacted Pacesetter and they said the smell was normal. Should be gone in a day or two.

You have it right on both counts, and it is normal. Coating on the pipes, plus the wd40. It should burn off within 500 Miles tops.
