DAEWOO MAX INJECTOR LIMIT
alright guys... im helping a friend do a nitrous setup on his 2002 daewoo lanos
Whats the max his injectors can handle?
the lanos comes with about 105HP stock
any one know the injector size?
btw... i would hate to blow up his engine... does any one know any limits on internals?

Gonna guess those are 195cc/min injectors (rated at 44.1psi), rough estimate. A 50% bump in pressure (65psi) should yield about 25% more flow, so about 243cc/min is the end result.
You have enough fuel there, at 85% duty cycle, to hold about 165 crank horsepower given a BSFC of around 0.55... Thus, I wouldn't do ANY more than a 55 shot absolute tops. In fact, I'd start it around 35 and go up from there.
Gut instinct says that the fuel system is actually worth more than 165 crank, but playing the math is safer than "gut"
Of course, one thing to consider is the fuel pump. I know the stock Hyundai pump starts cutting out as it approaches 60psi, which is a death sentence to your engine if you're spraying when it decides to cut. Guess what that means? New fuel pump smile.gif
I'd be careful running 50+ psi on the stocker, which limits your fuel output to around 120 crank. Yuck...

Dam... so if we are playing with limits... ZEX and NOS are definantly out of the question
thanx red

You could always have the guy drop off his fuel injectors at www.rceng.com They are in torrance. They have 24 normal service. They will flow bench test, clean, then test and equalize all 4 injectors for $100. Or he can just test/clean one injector for $25. he can also try calling them to see if they have done a Lanos injector before, and if so, if they have a record of what the flow rates are.

i was thinking of just saving him the trouble and slapping a venom kit
start with the smallest nozzle and work our way up... once we start flashing a bit on the lean side... move down a nozzle and we are set
ill ask him though
