Unless you're going to modify/raise the stock rev-limiter, don't bother. Sure, some V8's can see an extra 20 hp by using a windage tray, but that's with 8 LONG crank throws and 16 BIG counter weights. You'd be lucky to see/realize 5 CRANK HP outta this. For you folks spinning to 8 or 9k...sure, every bit helps. For the average schmoe.. If you want do do something, dis-assemble your motor and attack the inside with red glyptal.

Glyptal seals the tiny pores left in metal after bead blasting and leaves the engine block interiors smooth. Helps keep the oil clean and flowing freely. Acid and oil resistant. Used on generator and alternator armatures, Glyptal has great electrical insulating properties, too!

If you coat the inside sides of the block with this, it seals the pores in the block, promoting oil flow back to the pan. It also decreases "spater" off the block walls. DO NOT paint anything other than the block. Do NOT paint the rods. If you wanna go gonzo, you could also do valvetrain area of the head (head only, NOT valves, spring seats, cam jourals...etc), but since so much oil accumulates up there anyway, I seriously doubt the glyptal will accomplish much there. (but it will look real purdy).

Some folks also pour the stuff down the oil galleys/passages to promote oil flow, but personally, I wouldn't want to risk that stuff blocking off an oil passage, or constricting it with a thick film.

Oh, the Glyptal add's 25 WHP because it's RED!

When I had the motor running with the valve cover off, it seemed as though the head drained very well. There were a few pockets that collected it, but I would say no more than a quart stayed up there.
