Default Re: stock 2000 tib (wanting turbo)

Okay I just finished installing my VHR clutch, but when I press the clutch pedal it isn't pulling on the pressure plate (given that I can't put it in gear and the clutch pedal is really soft). When installing I did put the fork in the hooks of the clutch bearing. After my car was back on the ground and everything bolted up, I tried moving the shift fork lever (the one that connects to the slave cylinder) and I swear I heard a small snapping sound like the bearing popped into place on the pressure plate, I may have been mistaken though.

So my question is, how do I properly get the bearing to snap into place?

Try bleeding the clutch system (if you haven't already), you may have some air in there.
:?: Is the clutch cylinder moving in & out when you push the pedal :?:

Well, bleeding the clutch worked 8O . I didn't think I had to bleed it since I didn't drain the fluid. I'm glad it was something small, I was afraid I'd have to tear everything down again.

you need to push kinda hard to get the bearing to clip in the pressure plate, easiest way is to push it with a prybar
you should hear a very distonct "clunk"
to see if it's hooked up well try pulling on the lever it should have much "freeplay"
