it seems that when the temp drops below 20 degrees i get a check engine light. I do have a CAI but i don't think this would be the reason. would it? I mean i guess the cold might be able to mess up my MAF with he freezing cold air coming through.
but all is fixed with an ECU flash the next day. i was just wondering if anyone has had similar problems.
(yes i did a search and all the CEL questions had to do with mostly exhaust)

I had the same problem because my thermostate was stuck open and when it got cold my engine wouldnt heat up so a check engine light would come on. I changed my thermostate and havent had a problem since.

When it gets really cold like it did here a few days aago mine went on. I was all worried the first time it happened either last year or the year before (some intake reading or something). I'm guessing the ECU corrects its slef for the cold weather or somethign because all the sudden it will just turn off a few days later.

^^^ well i gave my ecu a flash b/c i recently got my full exhaust on, and i was making sure it wasnt that. i didn't panic to bad tho.
the read out says faulty MAF. i have one of the readouts.
p.s. Midas charges like $60 bucks for a readout and to pop the hood, lol. i would invest like 80 bucks and get your own for future car problems you might ever have. and its just nice to have.

Funny. I have the same cat and my CEL turns on when it is cold out as well. Also turns on during rain too. It's always P0136 for second O2 sensor. Goes away after a reset or 2 or 3 days later and does not return until cold or rainy weather.

80$ ????
man I'm in Canada and my scan tool cost me 60 CAN$ shipped and brand new (and didn't had to pay any brokerage as the seller was also sending those from a Canadian location)
