Default Check Engine Light...

No clue why it came on. I came out of walmat after getting sodas and flash of lightning from the dash showed "CHECK ENGINE" i was like WTF!? and started swearing in 4 different languages... what could be making it turn on? sorri for not searching but as everyone knows, i lately have had no time to do much on the comp. cya all later.

just reset the ecu and see if it comes back on


i would take the gas cap off and put it back on then reset it (most common reason the light turns on)

There's lots of reasons why it could come on and you won't know for sure unless you read the code but the advice above is good. It could be something that will not come back and you don't need to be concerned about it. If the car is now running poorly or the light comes back on you better get it checked out.

why do people freak out about CEL's? you're car is still running isnt it?!?!

take it to autozone, they'll scan it for free

make sure the gas cap is tight, turn it until it clicks like 5+ times
