I never knew that was an acceleration sensor. I thought it was just another relay for the computer.

I shall watch this thread with the tenacity of a starved leopard.

I have one of those on my 04 Accent. Passenger side strut tower. It was in the way when I installed my strut bar. I bolted it down with out the bracket close by keeping it in the same position it was originally in because I didn't know WTF it was. It didn't look adjustable but I didn't open it up. I remember hearing it was the speed sensor??? IDK!

Thanks for that picture. If you look in from the left(in the picture) into the cylindrical hole, is that not a flat blade type plastic screw that can be turned?

I am more than well aware even if this did adjust fuel that it would not give me 100hp or compensate for a forced induction.

I have an aftermarket ecu fitted to my turbo lantra which adjusts fuel and timing and everything else.

Simply if you could lean out the engine marginally it would provide better fuel economy and a small increase in power, providing it doesnt knock and the factory ecu retards timing again and therefore reduces any gains.

By the way this sensor has long since been removed along with the wiring and many other sensors, map knock etc. that I didnt need on my turbo vehicle.

Some older Fords had something like that . It was for the barometer reading. Most baro sensors now are incorporated into the ECU

Oh, dur...

Most non-US cars were MAP based.

The US ones were MAF.

So yeah, I have no clue how to go forward diagnosing what is what, since I've never messed with a MAP based Hyundai...

Yea sorry maybe I should have noted that. These are on map based hyundais, do not have the maf ones in New Zealand.

It IS adjustable I just dont know what it does. My car with this on it is currently off the road. I will have a fiddle once it is going again and let people know unless we figure it out sooner.
