I have a Fidanza Cam Gear, but i do not have a Cam shaft.. is it beneficial to put just the Cam gear on in any way, performance wise? How much better would the car perform if i got the Shaft as well?

Well usually it goes hand-in-hand with the shaft so I figured it would be hard to find the specific question, plus it's easier to ask on a forum, and I like hearing multiple opinions about things. So for my second question. If i were to advance the timing, since my car already seems to be running rich, will it take even more gas or will the car recognize that it's already taking enough fuel to advance without using more??
look up member TDonnell. he did extensive advancing and retarding of cams and told everything that happened with his car when he did it.

My car's not running boost though, so it's a completely different scenario... I'm 6 pages into that forum and i feel like his issues are gettin where i need to be =) Sorry if i'm a hassle, this is my first day on my first forum, I'm 17 and I hardly know anything about my car and I'm finding every way to work on it so I can learn. My dad explained to me what retarding and advancing does I just feel like my car is running rich so I would like to advance the cam gear in order to get more power but I don't wanna burn a ton of gas, so I was just curious if the car will just use the extra gas it's already burning or if it'll burn more?

On that note, closed. Forums ARE easy, use the search first, as per the site rules, then come up with a new question using what you've learned. Or post in one of those threads.
Oh, and if you didn't have A cam shaft, your car wouldn't run. If you didn't have EITHER cam shaft, then the car wouldn't start or run at all either.
You have cam shafts, you just don't have aftermarket ones.
