With aftermarket headers and exhaust, you have to have your exhaust shop weld in the threaded holes for the 02 sensors.

When going with headers and/or full exhaust, you should replace the restrictive stock cat and go with a high flow cat of the same diameter as the rest of your exhaust piping.

What you could do for the headers is talk with a gas station that does the smog checks. Talk with the guy. I know a few guys who have cars that are so far past legal but they still have passed. If you are nice to the guy some will just check the emissions out the tail pipe and "forgeting" about doing the visual inspection.

If you have your car tuned right you shouldn't have a problem passing emissions. Modified cars generally run cleaner then stock.

If you can't pass emissions then you are in trouble. I had a friend that had to pay some guy $500 just to get him to pass it. But he had a 1994 VW Golf Turbo 2.0L, and his was running so much richer then Random's ride.
