A/c Locked Up

Well my a/c has been broke for about 3 summers now and I want to fix it. It locked up somehow and snapped the belt. It made a weird noise and the car was smoking before it snapped. Any clue on what to fix this ?

Go get a compresor at your local junk yard.

you blew the clutch on the compresser.. change it and the dry filter that is located buy the condernsor

word - change the compressor. when you do that you will need to change the drier/receiver located by the condenser and of course all the refrigerant.
