I dont mind spending $1500 if these gears will hold the power i want over 300-400WHP with no issues becuase in the long run you can end up spending more in fixing broken trannys with Labour.

True and not true

My question though is what material are these gears made with?

dont know that yet

How much stronger are they from OEM?

i dont know yet

Out of the 5 companies you posted above who makes the gear!!

all of them..

Thanks</div>

not a problem cool.gif

Cool!!
As soon as you test them or find out the material its made with and how much WHP it can hold post on the forum or let me know
You have an estimate on when you can get this info?
Just to make sure i DONT want the OEM gears to be one of the manufactures but the other 4 companies lmao.gif lmao.gif

Thanks for stopping in MJ. What else have you done to strengthen your transmission? Could you possibly make a thread on the push/pull conversion?

Got the bearing off by bolting the pressure plate to a spare flywheel, that made more room, then just 2 screwdrivers and it popped off.

1.8 gearbox is in, seems to run OK, now to take 2.0 gearbox apart.

BTW please keep to topic.

^ right on,

now i post up a link to the tear down and reassembly of the tranny.. if i am not mistaken it should be a stick.. hope that help.

Ericy321 02-19-2008 09:17 AM

The topic is strengthening the transmission so people arent breaking things. The clutch is what people have had issues with also.

bryfx 02-19-2008 02:10 PM

Nah the topic is my broken gear box and replacing it. If you want to talk about strengthening gearboxes, make another thread.

Ericy321 02-19-2008 07:17 PM

Oh well from post 7 on was about making it stronger. So replace it then. If you broke it once you will probably just break it again right? May want to think about making it stronger.

Since its 10years old, 5yrs with boost, I'm pretty happy it lasted this long.

I dont believe it needs to be strengthened so no need for the hijacking thanks.
