Well today I decided to change my pcv valve on my new 04 tib I bought not even a week ago. Well when I tried to wrench off the pcv valve it took the part that it screws into with it. It looked like there were medal particals so it prob stripped. So I need some advice do I need a whole new valve cover or that part? I have a new pcv valve but cant even get the old pcv valve off that part. I'm kinda ticked off but I will get over it. A pic below is what came out. If anyone has one of these parts for the beta2 valve cover please shoot me an price. 02.gif

it's a brass insert that is molded in the valve cover..
you should be able to fix to
hold the pcv valve in a vise then usea pair of vise grip pliers on the brass insert to unscrew it

once free from the valve screw your nes pcv valve in it using teflon paste don't overtighten

clean the insert and hole in the valve cover with brake cleaner
put a small amount of epoxy on the brass insert, then slip it back in the valve cover wait until it set then you should be done with it

the real way to fix it would be to get a new valve cover

I have never used teflon tape for my pcv valve? I have never heard of this. Is it something you do or just something you learned?

Thanks!

lol, if it doesnt hold, you fail... lmao.gif epoxy will hold anything if you clean it right.

it amazes me sometimes when people can't figure out the most simple things..

like come on..

pcv threads into insert..
whole piece comes out as one..
seperate the two, install new pcv onto insert, and jam the insert back in/epoxy it/jb weld, etc. and voila..

^^^^ You didnt have to explain to me what to do I'm not that stupid. I was just stating that I hope it holds. I don't know how epoxy holds up on a warm/hot engine.
