i'm just about to put a beta 2 trans (from a 04 elantra, 10k miles) and i noticed that on the shift rod there isn't really a return spring like on my beta 1. what i mean is, it doesn't return back to the neutral position between 3rd and 4th, should i be worried about this? the shifting feels pretty solid, should i swap the spring from my beta1 over to the beta 2 or is it not really a big deal? also, with it only having 10k miles on the trans, maybe this is the way they came?


by the way, i have some experience with tranny breakdowns, and wouldn't be intimidated by it if i need to take them apart.
