Ok I made a post before about my B&M when i didnt know what was the problem. I start new topic because I have a few questions about the problem I actually had.

Here goes :
There is some extra play with the shifter between the 2 ends of the Bolt
Sorta like this
|-----------|-|
^shifter---^Extra play

I noticed that when I shiftin 2nd, 4th or reverse, it bends backwards in the extra play and PIN doesnt stay between Return Spring but slips underneath therefore not returning to center position. I eventually ripped off the rubber on my return spring so to fix I put a LOT of electric tape so its thick enough the pin doesnt go underneath the return springs

Does this ever happened to any of you with B&M SS? I want to get new return spring and figure out a way without all the tape. How much is return spring / where can i buy one?

Also is it possible to put a washer or 2 in the extra play back of the shifter base to make it sit tight or is this bad for transmission / cables?

Thanks

5ly

I don't have all of that play with mine. I would double chekc your install, make sure the washers are all installed. It has been awhile since I installed mine, so I can't be precise, but something is wrong with yours.

Me neither.

Do you want me to go out and take some closeup shots of my B&M before I take it out?

I just did.

It'll be up in a few hours. Along with comparison photos of the B&M and RSA.

I'm good.

Thank you REDZ you are the man!
But I think i found the problem yesterday. There is a good DIY on b&Mracing.com or whatever the site name...
You know there are 2 plastic pins that goes on the shifter assembly that you take out from stock and put to B&M?
The idiot who installed it for me put the left side one but didnt put the one underneath, so it doesnt keep in place makes it wobble goddammit i should have done it all myself... wasted 20 bucks to get installed something i could have installed my eyes closed in a coma with hands attached

And now that this is fixed, it's locked.
