I know that this designed for auto trannies, but I would not recommend using anything but specific ATF that was made for Hyundai's auto tranny.

 

Bump I need an update!

I went to 3 auto stores today and none of them had redline gear oil, so I will be ordering it all online. Now I have a question about oil stabilizer:

Lucas oil stabilizer and Synthetic Oil Stabilizers are designed for motor oil only, although they have " Transmission Fix Oil", which should help with shifts and reduce friction. Is it the one that I should get? Or do I need the Synthetic Oil Stabilizer that they sell?

Please help!

 

they arent designed for motor oils only. read on the side, it will give recomendations for how much to use with virtually all oils.

 

That's what I was thinking, but I could not find anywhere that it can be used with manual transmission oil, but they did say that it can be added to ATF... so I guess it should work just as fine for manual. I just wanted to confirm before I buy anything that I'm not sure about.

But on the other hand wouldn't the "tranny fix" do the same thing? it says that it will keep the tranny cooler, restore worn parts, and will reduce heat. So it should work too.

and another question which one should I buy if I'm gonna get the Oil stabilizer, regular one or synthetic.

I just found some links saying that Lucas stabilizer makes oil foam... is that true? I don't wanna put some BS into my tranny.

 

there are some links that say that...i really dont know. the scenarios they put them in are not realistic at all. no pressure or heat.

im gonna keep on mixing it in with my oil. no problems yet, nor have i heard any problems from people who have used it, just speculation.

i just read the back of the bottle man, says in light duty mts, use .... read it again. wink1.gif

i would still get the redline mt90 gear oil. it is synthetic only. add about 25% lucas heavy duty oil stabalizer to it.

but i didnt order the lucas stuff i heard it tends to foam with high heat and air bubbles worry me

 

Alright, I will go and check that bottle again, but I'm pretty sure that there is no word for manual trannies or manual tranny gear oils. And the guy at the store was convincing me that I need to buy the "tranny fix".

If I do buy it, which one should I get synthetic since I will be using synthetic oil?

lucas isnt seperated synthetic and nonsynthetic.

 

I went to Adv. Auto today and carefully looked at the bottle and saw "for light manual transmissions..." and I was like "DUHHHHH!". So I bought it and also ordered some oil. Turned out to be $27 shipped for 2QT of oil and $7 for lucas.

Random is a Tranny, the oil he prefers is Astroglide.
