^^^ Yeah I was wondering that too. The RD2 cat-back does go under the rear axle while the RD1 one goes over like stock. But still that is a heck of a difference.

Yeah if it was 399 + shipping that isnt bad at all I will buy one but the other price is like 600 all together just a tad expensive for a little tiburon.

well, for one, the rd2 exhaust is not on sale...but we will receive shipment in may, so a sale will probbly come around. you could always get an rd1 and get a shop to fabricate something to fit. but u probbly should just wait smile.gif

The RD1 fitment issues are not that bad. I know because I installed it on my 1999. It would take a short trip to a muffler shop to get one of the hangers redone to fit great. When ARK has the new version done I'm going to test fit it so they will know for sure that it is a good fit.

The RD2 does not have these problems at all.

Here's my install thread:

Also, the 2.5 catback does not reduce lowend at all. I think this perception comes because the lowend doesn't get boosted as much as the highend. The dyno shows 3-4hp from 2k-5k and 6+ from 5k and up.

I've not had any idling problems either.

Basically despite the fit problems, I love the ARK catback.

QUOTE (hamhead @ Apr 19 2005, 03:41 AM)
You guys are having idling problems on 2.25? That is rather odd... I've never heard of cars having idling problems related to exhaust size. You sure its related to the exhaust? Mine is 2.5in and idles fine, it'll drop down to 800 every once in a while and stutter a tad, but thats only when my fans decide to turn on. Every other time, when I start the car in the morning it idles @ 1300RPM and slowly comes down to the normal 1000RPM. Which brings me to why is Ultra's car idling slower when its cold? LOL. lol.gif All your cars are broken.

LOL i was wondering the same thing (thinking mine was broken lol.gif)
mine does just what ham's does..isn't it SUPPOSED to idle at 1000?

Proper idle speed is 800 +/- 100 rpm.
