actually there was a recall on the AEM bypass valve
the inner part was separating and being sucked into the engine

there was a post about it on fxtreme

if you also read that post on FXTREME then you would know that it was from a bypass valves sold from a certain time to a certain time... not forever

yes you got that correct the by pass valve was only defective on a certain batch that now has been corrected and accounted for.

you should not have any problems with it coming apart on you if you guys must know i can post that recall notice here for ya guys also like i did fxtreme

Like i said there WAS a recall i did not say there IS a recall

And i only posted it just incase some fool try's to sell an old one on ebay or such so they would be informed.

Yeah I was one of the 1st people to hear about this from Steve @ speedstate I tried to let everyone know but SOMNEONE erased my post. I have talked to Steve and he said that they are now availible for Auto. trans. too and that if you want to know how uch it will cost in Us dollars its $165.00 around there. Also the CAI goes behind the front bumper not the fender.

If it doesn't go into the fender well. I would assume that it's A-spec compatible.

Where behind the front bumper? Will this help it to get more air? And do you think the location of the filter wold be in an area where you should worry about hydrolock if you did not have the bypass valve?

I don't care for the look of the bypass valve but would not sacrafice my engne to save looks.
