Does anybody have any opinions on the Weapon*R Dragon intake? Is it just for show, or is it functional as long as you have the ram air intake hooked up to it?
Jaws? you got that pic laying around somewhere?

Just for show heheheh thats a good one hehe

Hey Angelo, if you don't have any info on the AOS intake gains just say so, don't spout off with a lot of b.s. Apparently AOS has designed a decent enough intake for the new Tib, that makes real gains, so why ASSUME that their other intakes are "crap"? Everyone that has driven my car before and after the AOS intake said they felt a definate difference. I don't think a 2 hp gain would have even registered on the most sensitive butt dyno. Also, The TOP of the cone filter is six inches below the battery tray, the tip is actually much closer to the road and catches air that is running through and under the car while it is moving. The hot air issue is mainly during IDLING, and I don't need maximum power when I'm idling. I also have shielding which seperates the filter from engine bay heat and the radiator... to encourage the intake to draw air thats flowing below it not above it.

Excellent point!! All we want are the FACTUAL numbers, not OPINIONS. I can't believe this is becoming so diffuclt to get rolleyes.gif Why? This a reminder as well and not a flame, but when anyone responds to a topic, PLEASE READ THE TOPIC BEFORE YOU POST! This topic is about the AOS INTAKE, not the AEM INTAKE or the WEAPON R INTAKE! Thank you

Think about what you just wrote for a minute. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't there a dyno of the AOS intake for the 03 tib in this thread? rolleyes.gif

One last time, what arethe gains from the Art Of Speed Intake "AOS" for the 1st and 2nd Gen Tibs!!If anybody nows. rolleyes.gif
I believe no more than 2hp!!!!!The space underneath the battery tray is fvcking hot!!!!!!
Best thing you can do take out the plastic cover underneath the engine bay or draw a ramair tube straight next to your filter from somewhere outside the eng.area..

I strongly believe that max.gain from aos cai is 2hp the most>>>
The positioning of the cone is actually 6 to 7 inches under where the battary tray is located on a 35 degree angle opposite the raidator facing towards the bumper. wink

Hey you didnt get my point...
I have aos cai in my 98 tib.It is a wai and not a true cai.Ask Random about that.He has said that in many posts.AOS cai for 1st and 2nd gens is just a better set instead of strapping a filter to your mafs....

Try this>Drive around for 5/10 mins. After open your hood and touch the filter under the battery tray...ITS FVCKING HOT..This means that the nearby air is very very hot and this setup cant show any gains...In my car nobody noticed a significant difference before and after fitting the aos cai.
I cant say anything about aos cai for 03tibs though.
But for 1st and 2nd gens it doesnt worth. You have to realise that what we might put to our cars is not always the best and effective..

I drove to work two weeks ago, which is a 20 mile drive. I touched the filter, and it was regular tempature not HOT or COLD. Maybe I have a defective filter. wink 1 to 2 hp gain is not noticable. I am not crazy, but I do notice a considable increase. If anything it might be around five or so, but no way two. I just want to see the chart. Think about this for second. If it is 90 degrees and humid, you will feel it if you are standing still, now if you get on a bike and go 60mph you will feel cool.. You might have a Rev A first Gen Tib. But as I said before the design of the intake filter about 4 inches away and 6 inches UNDERNEATH the battery tray. The battery produces heat output, but the last time I checked, heat RISES not SINK. wink Also you said the AOS intake suck, but now you say you can't comment on it. Which is it

Yeah Angelo, but no one really seems to know what the gains are, but I am sure 2 hp would not be noticed or felt. Also, I have an "02 Elantra, not a Tib. I have conducted a little experiment when I first put in the intake. First I took a drive for a half-hour or so....in warm weather.... then pulled over with the car still running and reached up to the filter. The air below and around the intake was slightly warm, no where near the hot engine bay temperatures that came up when I popped the hood. Any metal on the cone filter will absorb radiant heat from a nearby heated engine part ...not from the air flowing into the filter. My filter is shielded from above and on all sides (except for a two inch gap in the front to allow ram air forced through the front grille) and is lukewarm to the touch after driving...even the metal. I also wrap the intake TUBE which is cool to the touch after an hour and a half of driving. The AOS intake works beautifully if you bother to shield it. Besides, No CAI breathes "cold" air on a warm day. Unless your definition of "cold" is "whatever the outside temperature is minus small wind-chill factor".
