Hello,

I just got an FX, and I threw most of my parts on (suspension anyway) from my old tib. I put on the AEM intake and damn is that thing loud or what! My car sounds like a freakin honda getting into VTEC after 5000 rpm. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks. cool.gif

First off, why is it a problem LOL.

Secondly, intakes aren't that loud LOL. Your just used to the noise from the stock Tib.

Dude....I so miss the sound of my CAI screaming at 6500 RPM at WOT. It sounds so awesome....I creamed my pants when I first got that intake. So yes, it's loud, but it's not SUPER loud, but she certainly will scream when you push it.

The AEM intake sounds better than the Apexi exhaust, imo wink1.gif I have an AEM replica now... but it's just not the same 02.gif

my AEM intake is LOUD. The stock exhaust is louder than most vehiles' stock exhaust, but the AEM intake does have a loud sucking sound to it. I LOVE getting off work and hearing it SCREAM as I'm going trough the tunnels.

I suggest getting the intake from Auto-Zone that has the hole in the top, to allow air to go directly into the intake. It's positioned right behind the front bumer scoop and the air goes right into the top of the intake. Works better than my AEM intake cone.

If you think an AEM is loud.. mine is shorter.. with only one bend before it goes through the sheet metal of the inner fender... the first time I went to WOT, I was next to a concrete divider.. all the hair on the back of my neck stood up from the combination of scream and crackle.. not the same as dual carbs on a four cylinder (one barrel per cylinder) but a good substitute

I don't remember.

Shit, you think it's loud now, get a BBTB on there, a airram and some of those phenolic spacers.

WOOO!

Not to mention the BBTB makes this cool sucking/whistling noise at certain RPM's.
