Default advanced timeing

my brothers friend has a gun that can advace the timeing of your car. what exactly dose this do? how much hp gain can you get if you advance it 2 degrees? can this harn your car?

The gun does nothing by it self. It simply allows you to see what the timing of the car currently is. This only works on Cars with Distributors. As we have distributorless ignition, it will not function on our cars.

plus in order to advance our ignition timing, you have to get an aftermarket unit and splice into the spark-plug signal and retard/advace through careful settings. Or you must get a complete standalone fuel/ignition computer to replace the stock ECU. Expensive to modify the injector duty cycle or the ignition timing in these OBDII EFI cars. But possible (but not something you try by yourself)
