Wow, never would have guessed. And you cannot just swap sensors then I suppose.

QUOTE (Ruiz. @ Nov 27 2008, 03:02 PM)
Guess you will have to ban me lol. Simmer down. It's a message board on the internet, nothing to get worked up about. And seriously, it's the dumbest thing I have ever heard on a forum, not to quote the above post, wow. Clearly it's there for a reason. Just think about it. As I told you via PM, get some competent admins for this site. At anyrate, I got my answers, a mod can close this is he or she wishes. Thanks to others for good information, people who don't live on message boards.

You aren't being banned, but you will be warned. You don't tell the staff here, including this more than COMPETENT admin, when or where to do anything. You cried like a b**** via PM for what, a week? All because your first thread was locked and you were told to search.

Suck it.

If the dumbest thing you've ever seen on a forum was above, you've never been on a forum before.

Clearly it's a rule for a reason, either follow them, or go post elsewhere.

As for the issues with the swaps, if you can't figure out how to find things by searching here, like what I PROVIDED YOU via PM, you have little to no chance of being mechanically competent enough to open your hood, much less swap a transmission.

Tib500's problems could range from many things. A Late model 2001 tranny on a Rev A RD1 tiburon.

That could have all sorts of issues as there are some different wiring things on the Rev A. Could be a 2.0 tranny going on a 1.8L, unless every detail is listed, there's no way to know for sure. As for them being "completely different transmissions", that's not true, or it wouldnt' bolt up at all. If the bell housing bolts on, and the engine mounts mount up, then it's a BOLT ON. It may take some wiring or sensor swapping, as folks have posted plenty of questions about those in the past.

We aren't here to spoon feed you, NO one is, despite DTN's post saying we are. You just are supposed to be given the benefit of the doubt for your first 50 posts or so, but since you obviously have no clue, and don't want to be an actual part of this fantastic community, I'll go ahead and warn you.

I told you via PM, and I'll tell you again, we are a bit more strict here than most forums, but we aren't most forums are we? Our rules are setup to keep information concise, and clear. We are an all volunteer site. Feel free to volunteer to leave.

Staff, if you want to see the PM series between me and this idiot, just post in the Moderator forums and I'll post them up.

in 500's case, right it might be the Revision A.

we're talking about 2 seperate things here. nuts bolts vs. electronics. some 1997's were different (rev A have a few additional sensors made for efficiency, different wiring order & loom color, assembly bolts, harder more expensive plastics including the gauges, lighter assembly and other interior bits)

1. if you have problems, and were a good or knew a good mechanic, it wouldn't be a problem for sure.

2. if this whole swap is a problem, why not just get the same transmission and be done?

That user has a 1997 1.8L.

Sounds like a REV A tiburon to me.

That car had enough differences to be a RD .5 in my opinion.

the difference is a4bf1 has 4 shift solenoids and the 2 has 6. Hyundai put a campain out saying that the there was problems with shift quality with just 4 solenoids so they redesigned the valve body and the tranny case itsself. Its $1500 from the dealership
