I been having a problem w/ my plug wires. They're 8mm plug wires and everytime I put them in, my CEL(check engine light) comes on. If I put my stock plug wires in(2.2mm), my CEL turns off. Do I have to reset the ECU when putting the 8mm plug wires in? I got this feeling that the new wires could be faulty. What's up? Peace. J.Skid.

 

Without knowing what the CEL is, there is no way to tell.

Compare the new wires to the old ones in every way, something is different about the new ones (besides width).

if the plug boots are the same, and the length/connectors are the same, one of the wires must be bad. Try replacing just one of the stock wires with the performance wires untill the CEL get's triggered.
