I ordered two Option Racing 60mm BBTBs from SeoulfulRacing about a week ago.

One is for my wifes 2000 Tiburon with an automatic transmission and CAI, 4-2-1 header, 2.5-inch high flow catalytic converter, 2.25-inch mandrel bent exhaust, 2.25-inch Flowmaster muffler, Air Ram, phenolic spacers, NGK premium wires, NGK iridium plugs, underdrive lightweight crank pulley, lightweight, water pump & power steering pulleys, 5w30 synthetic oil, and weight reduction. This car also has lighweight 16-inch wheels (16 lbs. Motegi FF6) with 205/45ZR-16 Toyo Proxes 4 tires.

The second is for my 2000 Tiburon 5-speed with CAI, 4-2-1 header, test pipe, mandrel bent exhaust,, Air Ram, phenolic spacers, lightweight flywheel, MSD super conductor wires, NGK iridium plugs, underdrive lightweight crank pulley, lightweight, water pump & power steering pulleys, 5w30 synthetic oil, synthetic transmission lube, and weight reduction. This car has Motegi Trak_Lite 14 lbs. forged 17-inch wheels. I am undecided on whether to go 205/40ZR-17 or 215/40ZR-17's.

This car will be daily driven and I prefer not lose any bottom end if at all possible. Difficult task when trying to gain HP, I know. The car will see the track on occasion.

My question is this: Should I have ordered the 65mm BBTB for my 5-speed car?

I think you should have, but how many more modifications do you plan on doing? For right now it would be fine with a 60mm, but if you plan on doing some aggressive cams or headwork, you may want to swap out for the 65mm. ESPECIALLY if you want to do a turbo setup.

But you should be okay with the 60mm anyway. It's unlikely even with big cams and headwork that you would see a big gain with an extra 5mm.

When they get here I will.
I just ordered them (along with my clear corners for the silver RD2) about a week ago. I spent alot of money ordering all of the upgrades in my signature for my Tibby to make it above and beyond my wifes Tibby. When I ordered the VIS carbon fiber hood I got a better deal for two, so I ordered an extra for my wifes car. Ditto on the Goodridge stainless steel braided hoses from NOPI. I got two sets shipped for $163.50. The BBTB's was the last thing my wifes Tibby needed so I figured if she was getting one, so was I. wink1.gif
Anyways the items are just now starting to trickle in, so I'll keep everyone posted...

i think the 60mm TBs will be fine.. unless you do some aggressive head work and valve train work, you wouldn't seem much of a difference. when i was N/A and i put my air ram and my 61mm TB on it was amazing..

i went back to the stock TB to see the difference and it was such crap compared to the 61mm tb.

i think you should buy one 65mm also, and see which one you like better, and if the 60mm is better, just give me the 65mm.

I would like to do some headwork, but it is hard for me to trust anyone with my engines. It's have to be someone with a flowbench, and I am not sure I want to spend that much money on this car. We'll see what happens...

I will probably end up getting the 65mm also and see which one performs better, then sell the 'leftover' one. This will not be for some time though.

I am moving from Michigan to Arizona sometime around the end of May so I am not going to be spending much more money on the cars until after I get settled in down there.

Youll be fine with the 60, and if you ever get more extreme N/A mods or boost you can easily sell the 60 and buy the 65

lol, good catch!

System Upgrade is what they are. I have no idea what I was thinking.

As for meeting up, I am pretty sure that there will be a Hyundai meet, big race, or import show / classic car show / Mopar show where I'll be out your way.
