I'm not a "show" kind of guy, but when it comes down to 1-2hp or less difference, I'd go with the nice/quality/cheap option. The money you save could buy you another mod, like a crank pulley or something.

the difference between the injen, aem, and randoms special was 1hp between them from the dyno test back in 03

just buy a ebay one, get a k&n for it and pocket the rest of the cash

your not gonna even notice 1 hp

That's what I'm saying. The difference, for all we know, could be due to dyno irregularities, or heat soak......

Save yourself $100-150 by getting a cheaper CAI, and use the money to buy an OBX crank pulley and 1.8L intake cam. You'll see a nice drop in 1/4 times with those 3 cheap and easy mods.

The AEM made 12whp. I believe the next best was the Random at 9whp and Injen at 9whp also (but less under the curve). The Random Special wasn't commercially available though.

i love my AEM intake, but wish i wouldve spent the money on a cheaper intake, or a homemade WAI...the price is a little to steep IMO
