the cam sensor and assembly is on the intake side of the head, on the timing belt end. It is probably not visible when looking at the engine from the front of the car, but if you come around to the side and look down where the injectors are, it should be right there above them, all the way at the end by the T belt.

The thing it reads is a little dowl like thing at the far end of the cam, opposite the timing chain

what does the cel read? you still didn't mention that.

it is faster to diagnose a problem having this info
