1.8 In Place Of A 2.0?
injectors, ecu, pistons, and im not to sure if the crank and rods are diferent. but thats about it.
i dont even think you need a 1.8 ecu yours should work.
should be a direct swap no problems

2.0 shat on me.
I removed the turbo kit and sold it. I ran it with low oil pressure and I believe my piston is now hitting my spark plug.
I am going back to stock. Will the 1.8 be ok with my 2.0 auto trans?

low oil pressure would not let the piston hit the plug... even if you ran without a timing belt.. the piston should NOT hit the plug.. valves yes, plug no.
I think you need to figure out EXACTLY what happened to your 2.0. Hyundai engines are pretty robust in a NA application and can take a lot of maintance abuse.. (except for the HLAs) I would have the car's compression tested, perhaps even pop the head off, before I would go through all the trouble of downgrading your car.

You are right. I should try to fix it but, if I can get a 1.8 for $75, I might just do that.
I abused this engine. The first 70k was pizza delivery miles and a lot of WOT torture. Then a lot of WOT turboing. Then removed turbo and drove it with the oil tap from the head leaking pressure and a hole in my oil pan. There were a lot of grit and metal shavings in the oil before this happened.
I just want an engine that was stock it's whole life. It is probalby easier/faster/cheaperfor me to put a new engine in than tearing the old one apart, then fixing it, then hoping it lasts.
The entire plug from cylinder 1 was smashed and the had no gap and the electrode was bent to the side. The engine makes a VERY loud knocking.
I will try to get a video of it.
