Wring Power Cable From Battery To Trunk.
I wanted to make this thread and keep it seaparate from the sound deadening thread just to give people a chance to see the options they have when installing a stereo and they need to route a power cable to the trunk.
using the advice firebug21we quickly started to see if there was an easier way then to remove the fender and the tire.
still using firebug21 diagram i saw where the cable had to go

so off we go.
we first start off by removing part on the inner mud guards to expose the hole where all the cables from the fuse box get route into the car.

After locating the hold make a cut into the rubber. Belive me this is some thick stuff and dont be scared to make a big cut as it will be easier in the long run. (yes i know it wasnt a smart idea to use a knife like we did)

Start pushing the cable through this whole and dont forget to aim it down or it will end up hitting against that box located to the right in the picture. using pliers or if you were lucky grab the cable and start pulling. Your done the hard part.

Now still at the fender route over the fender and to the front of the car where you can easily grab hold of it at an opening near the battery.

unscrew the clamps holding the wring down and route the calbes underneat there to the trunk

... sit back and enjoy the fact you didnt have to drill a single hole B)

Well thats aanother way to do it. I ran mine in almost the same spot but there was another spot a little lower than that. Normally used for a sunroof drain i guess. Routed mine up and through there. Worked out really good. and didnt have to cut a single hole!

i say the hard part was guiding the wire through the hole you made
thats the worst part
as it took us a good while to try to point the cable down into the cabin without hitting the black box thing there.

I was working on my car and decided to take a picture of where I ran my cable from the fender side. Here you can see the area where the gromet that you can access from inside the car. I saw another picture in another topic that showed the view from inside looking at the hole.
