well, most leds use 20 milliamps. you are using a 470 ohm resistor.
by manipulating the ohm's law equation, you can get:
P = (A^2)xR
so, .02 squared times 470 is .188W. you will have to use the quarter watt resistor(.25). a 1/8 watt resistor would burn up.
