Ok. here we are with another cheap mod and again with LEDs 8)

1. Get as many 5mm Blue Led as you can (and 430Ohm Resisitor) and if you can, some Led housing too .. (for EUR people, check here: http://shop.dotlight.de/shop/ they have packages with 50 led + 50 res @ 9.99 euro = 12 US$ Vat included)

2. Get a Dremmel (or sometihng for drilling hole)
3. Get a low wattage solder
4. Get some liquid Glue
5. A lot of patience
6. Some 3/4 litre Moretti's (sorry guys, this is Italian beer lol.gif )

first: i soldered all the led in parallel. this means i used a resistor in the (+) pole of the led... and then i use even a little piece of Heat shrinking tube too to protect everything ..

[Starting From REAR]

Take Off the rear Grills.
Drill holes in the plastic border of the grill. i used 10 led for grill, but of course, you can use more or less led.. as you want...
If you have only leds, drill by 5mm but if you use led housing, drill by 6mm
Put leds in their own hole and maybe you are near to sometihng like this:

After that, you have to find a way to connect to the +12DC..
I let the wires pass behind the panel and get back to my rear *remote pin* AMP.. so everytime a turn on the radio, the grilss are illuminated..

If you use led housing, leds will be really hidden and after you put bacj the grill you should see nothing strange

..BUT when you turn the radio On 8) 8) 8)

[Now the front Grills]

Take the door panel off then remove the front speaker plastic cover..

then try to drill again in the same way you did on the rear and do the same job with leds in the border

after finished, it should be like this:

again, use as many led as you want.. for the front i used 7 leds)

i used the +12DC from the same wire used for lighting the windows switch, so, everytime i turn on the light, the front grills are lighted..

..here is a pic when everything is lighted, speaker, neon on the pocket, windows switches and door lever ..

another from the left side:

.ok ok .. i have my home at http://digilander.libero.it/gulmo/ so if you *really* want to waste a little of your time, check it..
sorry but it's everything in my language (italian) but i will soon translate the pages.. it's only a matter of time wink.gif

.. ah! BTW, here the mod for my trunk, where i used again a LOT of leds

http://digilander.libero.it/gulmo/pianaleled.htm

ok guys, sorry for my english.. i did my best .. hope you can enjoy this mod or have better ideas from all his wink1.gif

If you plan on getting nice speakers for the rear this mod wont work well. I have pioneer 4 way 350w 6x9's in the back and I had to completly cut out the plastic piece jutting off of the rear of the back speaker grill. But if you dont buy bigger speakers it looks pretty cool! Kinda bright, and would probably be a bi@tch to drive at night with.

Wow cause mine are a hell of alot bigger than those! There are a few different versions of the 4 way I think. Less wattage ones so they may be smaller???? Beats me

UltraTibby, just for information:
I Have Pioneer 4 way model TS-A6988, a (90w rms) 300W speaker..
powered by a Macrom AMP..

these one are a typical 6"*9" and fit exactly on the rear without cutting anything lol.gif

if you want to see my stereio mod, look @ http://digilander.libero.it/gulmo/carhifi.htm i put few pictures with the speakers fitted... so.. why you needed to cut the plastic ? maybe you try to out something bigger ?

I have the TS-A6980R. Here is a pic.

And trust me these beasts dont fit right without cutting that plastic surround on the speaker grill away. Oh and I dont have the grill cover on that came with them.

If I could read in whtever language that is on the link I sure would look at it!

Default Re: What tires should I get?

Ultratibby - I have those exact same speakers and they fit fine! No drilling, cutting, or anything required. The stock grill pops right on with no problems.
