I'd like a DIY on how to clean fuel injectors once they're out of the car.

DTN,
There is a special machine that cleans them. A flow bench or something of that sort. Friend of mine used to work at a shop that cleaned train engine injectors and they used the a bench.

Not to bring up a dead horse but a comprehensive with picture and input from members on doing wheel bearings. Something following the thoroughness of Patreezeys timing belt DYI. There are a few posts here and there about it. If someone posted one and its hidden by all means owned.gif my ass and let me know where it is.

^^ After doing some research I found that the best way to clean injectors out of the car is using a ultrasonic cleaner. Although I work with medical US cleaners and they would work, i could not obtain one for use with automotive parts. I ended up using a few drops of straight sea-foam in the input end, and soaking just the tip, I let the seafoam soak in for a few hours, and sprayed out the injector wth an air compressor. I soaked my fuel rail in seafoam and sprayed it out as well. I believe that will be satisfactory.

Hyundai recommends running your car on their 14PSI special fuel injector cleaner connected to the fuel rail. It does not make sence as the stock fuel pump supplies 38PSI. Seafoam removes carbon well and does not harm seals, so this method should work fine for cleaning injectors. I wish I had taken pictures.

well, starting this weekend i am going to be doing my custom stereo fiberglassing in the trunk. DTN's angel eye headlight install, custom center console for i pod. and if i have the brains to do it, ksport coilover install.

if anyone wants a DIY picture for picture on any of these let me know and i will get on them. center console will take me about a day or 2 to do. stereo will be about a week or 2 and coilovers shouldnt be more than a day or 2. so this should all be done by the end of the month! fing02.gif
